Rendering!

Been rendering over the last week.
I have been rendering a JPG for each frame then Im going to put it into an avi using adobe premiere

Also I have been having an issue with the biped model. it seems attempting to scale down the model after the bone structure has been applied distorts the whole body. there fore i would have to rebone it to make it fit into my seem
I cannot on time do as it was an unforeseeable setback, however I will include the files in my dissertation and have the model in my scene still.

something I wanted to do was add muzzle flashes to the robots arms in Adobe After Effects but it looks to be more technical than I expected and might not have the time.

Grey box camera movement

Here is the the grey box camera movement. Its the grey box because textures and reflections add a good 30 seconds on each frame.

The only thing I need to tweak is the speed the flag moves when its seen.

progress update

The rigging of a person and robots have been complete, minor tearing on the biped model which I am trying to solve. Also finishing up animation of the scene and lighting effects all to be done within the next two days

After that it's just a load of rendering to look forward to Here are a few pictures with default daylighting of the progress I have.

Way I created the biped model is by altering a human mesh in mudbox then importing it into 3ds max and building around the model to keep the ratio correct of its clothes. Also haven't put any textures into it yet.

Environment Concepting, Glass breaking

An awesome robot explodes a wall in front of it making the large chunks of debris fly into the front shop windows, I used a nifty extension call Rayfire to calculate how the glass would break giving it more of an authentic feel

Below I have a few screen shots I have rendered and a Movieclip I used to convey what it really looked like. The animation isn't perfect as I'm still creating the environment

Environment Concepting

I have modelled out a rough environment of what I want to as a finished product, Below are a few screen shots of the environment, The textures are all stock and smartened up to make the environment look a lot nicer Also I have implemented sunlight into the enviroment

Concepting

Over the dissertation I will be exploring how lighting can effect atmosphere in a 3d generated short film.

I will be making a short film showing showing a period similar to the terminator 3 movie where a collection of robots are going through and attacking humans

It's going to be fully rendered in 3ds max including a rigged robot and human models and lighting.

Here is a short list of the things I am going to create
Destructible Wall consisting of bricks
Flag, Cloth modified
Street environment background:
Standard brick walls
Shop fronts, broken glass
Doors
Small 3d assets:
Bins
Destroyed cars
Fallen lampposts
Signs
Rubbish
Human fully modelled with combat wear and helmet.
Human to be fully rigged for all poses and movements.
Non biped-styled Robot also fully rigged for various purpose.
Textures for all mentioned 3d objects including rigged models
create/find music for scene

My end product.

I am looking at having two identical 3d short films with the only different being the lighting styles
I also will include research I have performed relating to lighting and atmosphere and all the of the 3d assets I have generated.
